Afghanistan’s future is in the hands of Afghans, US Special Representative
New York: US Special Representative for Afghanistan Zalmai Khalilzad says Afghans are getting a new opportunity with the departure of our troops and partners.
US Special Representative for Afghanistan Zalmai Khalilzad said in a tweet that “our war in Afghanistan is over, our brave soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen have served to the fullest with sacrifices. The soldiers have our gratitude and respect forever.”
“With the departure of our troops and partners, Afghans are getting a new opportunity. The future of Afghanistan is in the hands of Afghans. Afghans will choose their path in full sovereignty,” Khalilzad said. This is their chance to end the war.
Zalmai Khalilzad asked whether all citizens, men and women in Afghanistan will have the opportunity to reach their potential. The Taliban are facing a test, they can lead the country to a secure and prosperous future.
