Ferrari recalled more than 2,000 of its vehicles from China when the brakes failed
SHANGHAI \ Milan: Italian luxury car maker Ferrari has recalled more than 2,000 of its vehicles from China over possible brake problems.
According to a Reuters report, a notice from China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) stated that the Italian company had recalled 2,222 of its vehicles over the issue of brake oil leakage.
Chinese regulators say recall vehicles may have had poor braking performance or brake failure.
Vehicle models ordered by Ferrari include 458 Italy, 458 Special, 458 Special A, 458 Spider, 488 GTB and 488 Spider series vehicles, manufactured between March 2010 and March 2019.
The statement further said that these vehicles should be driven with caution and if any low warning light of brake fluid level is seen, they should be stopped immediately.
The notice said that the parts of these vehicles which have problem will be replaced by the company free of cost.
Ferrari has sold about 5,400 vehicles in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan during the period. Shares of the company fell 3.1 percent in the global market after Ferrari recalled its vehicles.
Earlier, the American electric car company Tesla had announced to recall about 120,000 to 1,000 vehicles from China for the same fault.
