For the first time in the United States, a respirator code detector has been approved
WASHINGTON: The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has for the first time approved a system that can test a patient for corona epidemic in just three minutes by inhalation. This tool gives 90% accurate results.
It is made by a company called Inspect IR, which analyzes respiration using gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. Therefore, it looks for patterns of organic volatile compounds (VOCs) instead of specific viruses that are released in the presence of the SARS co-virus. In all, it identifies five VOCs that can typically be present in the breath of COD patients.
According to the FDA, it can only be used in special occasions and emergencies, where more than 2,500 people have been tested. It was found that it detects cod patients with 91% accuracy. The FDA said in a statement that its agency would continue to encourage modern inventions to meet modern medical challenges.
That’s why the company called it a milestone in medical technology.
The most important thing about Inspector IR is that the engineers have limited a very large and heavy gas chromatograph and mass spectrometer to a small box. But only a specialist can operate it under the supervision of doctors. So far, the price has not been determined.
