Nuclear deal: Tensions between the United States and Iran begin to melt
WASHINGTON: Long-standing tensions between the United States and Iran have begun to melt, with rival countries agreeing to sit down at the negotiating table once again.
According to foreign media reports, the United States and Iran are ready to negotiate a nuclear deal once again. The talks will be held in Vienna through a third party from Tuesday.
White House spokesman Ned Price said the United States did not expect an immediate breakthrough, but that the start of negotiations was a healthy move.
Russia has welcomed the start of talks between the two countries.
According to foreign media reports, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United Kingdom played a key role in persuading the two countries to sign a nuclear deal.
On the other hand, Iranian Foreign Minister Jawad Zarif has stressed that the purpose of the talks is to immediately lift sanctions on Iran.
In February, US President Joe Biden told the Munich Security Conference online that the United States was ready to negotiate a nuclear deal with Iran.
The US president made it clear that he would work closely with European and other partners to restore the nuclear deal with Iran.
On the other hand, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei had demanded that if the United States wants to restore the nuclear deal with Iran, it should not take action, the first step must be taken by the United States.
