WASHINGTON: President Joe Biden has invited the Emir of Qatar to visit the United States to discuss a possible LNG crisis in the West.
According to the international news agency, US President Joe Biden has decided to seek help from Qatar to deal with the possible oil crisis as a result of the Russian aggression on Ukraine.
In this regard, the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani will have his first meeting with President Joe Biden at the White House today. The Emir of Qatar is meeting at the invitation of President Joe Biden.
A statement from the White House said, “The Emir of Qatar and the President of the United States will also discuss security issues in the Middle East and the situation in Afghanistan.”
According to experts, Qatar is the second largest exporter of LNG in the world which has already helped the western countries to deal with the energy crisis.
According to experts, Qatar is currently producing 100% of its LNG supplies to several Asian countries, including US allies, in which case US assistance is a difficult task.
It should be noted that Qatar had provided a platform for negotiations with the Taliban for the safe withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, which has further strengthened relations between the two countries.
